Barton began her political fundraising career in 2000 when she joined a prominent Atlanta political consulting firm. She worked on various campaigns throughout the Southeast, including then-Georgia Congressmen Bob Barr and Saxby Chambliss and then-North Carolina Congressman Robin Hayes. 

During the 2002 election cycle, Barton was a finance assistant for then-Congressman Saxby Chambliss’ historic election to the United States Senate, playing a significant role in the raising of over $6 million to unseat the incumbent U.S. Senator. Upon election, she continued working for Senator Chambliss’ re-election campaign, focusing not only on fundraising, but maintaining all of the campaign’s data and compliance. 

During the 2004 election cycle, Barton aided the Congressional campaigns of Tom Price and Calder Clay with their data and compliance. 

Since joining Capitol Response almost ten years ago, Barton has had the opportunity to work with campaigns and PACs on both the state and Federal level. During the 2014 cycle, she provided compliance services for the Congressional campaigns of Rick Allen (GA-12) and Donna Sheldon (GA-10) and the U.S. Senate campaign of Karen Handel. During the 2016 cycle, she had the opportunity to work for the Congressional campaigns of Drew Ferguson (GA-3) and Michael McCaul (TX-10) in addition to the Allen (GA-12) campaign.

Currently, Barton provides compliance services for Congressman Rick Allen (GA-12), Congressman Drew Ferguson (GA-3), Karen Handel’s Congressional campaign in Georgia’s 6th District, as well as six state legislators and two state PACs. 

Barton is a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a major in History. She and her husband, Luke, live in Atlanta and are active members of All Saints’ Episcopal Church. They are the proud parents of Fain, Kate and Will.
